Dummy Load Cells
mg-sensor offers more than 200 products for crash test sensor applications. The applied forces (and force moments) on a crash test dummy are measured by the load cells installed within the dummy's body. The forces cause compression or strain on the physical structure of the individual load cell unit. The ensuing deformation of the load cell is then measured using precision strain gauges within the sensor that converts these physical changes into electrical signals that are communicated to the data acquisition system.
In crash tests, different ATD dummy types are used depending on the crash type. For this purpose, we develop and produce numerous load cells for various measuring sites such as the head, neck, chest, spine, pelvis, legs and many more.
ATD load cells range from single to six-axis models available for the Hybrid III, Side Impact, Child, Rear Impact and THOR family of dummies!
