Our UFOnano was developed to fill the need for, realistic vulnerable road user scenarios. It fits all commonly-used VRU dummies and will also support the next generation of highly-sophisticated human replicas.
The UFOnano target carrier was developed specifically for VRU (Vulnerable Road User) tests. It was designed with extremely high lateral and longitudinal accuracies for dependable and repeatable testing. The UFOnano seamlessly integrates into active safety products for synchronized testing, allowing the configuration and testing of complex real-life scenarios with up to ten robots.
DESIGNED FOR VRU TESTING
The versatile device features the same familiar design as the standard Humanetics UFO, but its compact size allows it to drive a curve in every radius and even turn on the spot. It can easily accommodate a pedestrian test targets with a shoulder width footprint barely larger than that of a real person, allowing multiple targets to ‘swarm’ together shoulder to shoulder and mimic individualized behavior. The UFOnano is built to adapt; our solution accommodates both current and future test scenarios, offering great flexibility and longevity.
DIMENSIONS
The UFOnano, alongside UFOpro and UFOmicro, has received Euro NCAP approval for use with the Pedestrian Target Adult (EPTa), Child (EPTc), and the Bicyclist Target (EBT). As the world's smallest platform robot for VRU tests recognized in TB029, the UFOnano stands out for its unique ability to turn on the spot. This capability allows it to offer realistic 2D maneuvers, enhancing pedestrian behavior simulations and serving as an advanced alternative to traditional rope-pulling systems.

HOT SWAPPABLE BATTERY DESIGN
The UFO product line boasts a swappable battery design that emphasizes quick and easy exchanges, taking as little as 2 minutes, directly from the top of the device. This "hot swap" feature ensures that all systems remain operational during the battery exchange, eliminating the need for rebooting or reinitialization, which maximizes testing uptime. The batteries themselves can be recharged swiftly, in approximately 90 minutes, enhancing the efficiency of the entire testing operation. This design innovation supports continuous use and improves the overall productivity of ADAS testing procedures.
OPERATION THROUGH TOUGH WEATHER CONDITIONS
Built to endure, the target carrier showcases exceptional robustness with its fully-sealed electronics, ensuring it operates seamlessly in both wet conditions and extreme temperatures. It maintains its high performance without the need for additional cooling, even when the heat turns up, and continues to function when temperatures drop, proving its versatility across a wide range of weather scenarios.
